The Pulse-Ox Team is researching infant pulse oximetry and working on improving the reliability of blood oxygen monitoring. We are taking a holistic approach to pulse oximetry, from the device itself to the way it is perceived by parents and medical professionals. So far, we have invented a new design for a hand-held pulse-oximeter that can be better used by physicians working in emergency situations. We are now working on obtaining a design patent for our work.

Our project part is part of Tiger Challenge, Princeton University’s Design Thinking program. The program lasts for a year, from June 2017 to May 2018, and guides us through a complete design cycle, from research to piloting.
Tiger Challenge was developed together with IDEO and encourages the students to use design-thinking in conjunction with their skills in order to solve difficult challenges.
